Hi Chris,I think I'm seeing spots. Like the subtle shadows instead of the usual obvious ones. Fion

Hi, Chris. I can see the circles and some shadows. I like the arrangment and the POV of these flags. I do not read Japanese but the red circle is the symbol of Japan. Nice note about the Shinto shrine.Cheers.

A good contribution to the friday's theme, the point of view is showing the details and colors of the japanese flags showned in the composition. the afternoon light is enhancing the colors. Have a nice day.

Simply love the picture, Chris!
A very well thought traditional Japanese piece of art, shown from such a wonderful POV which subsequently make a great entry into Friday's theme.
The contrasts are well kept and clarity is nice.
Good work as always!
Have a nice weekend.

I do like the simplicity and design of Japanese art, and you have captured it well.
Not always easy exposing whites with digital technology.
I wonder whether the image would have been stronger using just one panel of bunting?
I like the image down memory lane. Nice capture here at the temple.
I spent six years in Japan. Loved every minute of it.
