Life Left Behind
 |
|
| [Ligne directrice - Note] Note du photographe |
Life is left behind this closed door.
On the island of Susak there are lots of empty houses in very bad condition. After the WW2 lots of people emigrated to America in search for better life. Those houses soon become ruins, with trees instead of children growing inside, broken windows, closed doors. In some houses you can walk in because all that remained are only just a few walls. Sometimes, if you peek inside through the scattered window glass, you can hear some distant voices, children laughing. You can even smell the lunch that was prepared on that fireplace, for the man coming home after the long day on the sea. And those silhouettes around the table, children doing their homework, mother knitting socks waiting for the winter, even that you can see if you watch attentively.
And it always come to my mind this particulary sad moment, when the family takes everything that owns, steps outside their home, close the heavy door and never come back again. |

Great! Almost like an ISOgraphy (which is actually a compliment!).
I like the 3rd composition with all that lines that brings extra feeling of all the time that has passed away. Nice observation, you really have a good eye for details.
Great job done, TFS!
