Salut Jc

Hi JC,
The contrast between the blue sky and the white blossems is stunning, add to that the departing bee and a square crop and you have created a picture with impact.
I like the effect of using noise reduction - so for me it is not too much.

salut Jean
A good sharp capture of the bee in action and the flower in bright light and giving good bokeh.
Even 1/1300s is still unable to freeze the wings, so amazing fast speed that a bee can flip the wings.

Hi Jean,
Excuse me if my note did not explain well.
Most DSLRs has a "fixed" shutter speed when they are attached to a flash unit. The 40D I'm using even though can go all the way to 1/8000s but when it's attached to a flash unit, its maximum speed is 1/250.
But when you switched on Hi Speed mode on the flash unit, the flash unit "obeys" your exposure setting. What it means, if your shutter speed is 1/1000s, the flash unit would still fire at that speed and not resetting the shutter speed to its autosync speed.
As for your work here Jean, may I suggest you try to get the "face". I know it is asking a lot but when it comes to wildlife photography, the face is better. U can see an example of this bee taken at face value at my Trekearth gallery.
Regards
Rabani

Hello Jean Christophe,
this is a wonderful macro. Ilike it so much. Your POV is just fantastic. The composition perfect in my opinion. There is something almost comic in the POV as we can see only the disappearing backside of the bee.The colours show a lovely summers day. This I will add to my favourites.
