Good Morning Everyone,

Here you can see the artistry of the formal gardens at Chateau Villandry. Wonderful patterns of tiny hedges, flowers and herbs had been created. One of the gardens actually depicted the family crest of Villandry.

15 gardeners were employed to maintain these gardens in prime condition and all seemed to enjoy their work. I couldn't imagine how many people would have been employed when the chateau was inhabited as a home!

The building in the b/g is not the chateau but an associared building, probably the stable block.

For other information about the chateau, please see my earlier postings.

Many thanks for your interest.
Please feel free to offer feedback on any aspect of the photograph. Bev :-)

hello Beverley
how are you doing?
nice title to the shot
good view and fine presentation
what a fine garden in front of the building
good pov and fine angle
like the frame too.
thanks for sharing

regards
Manuj mehta

Hi Bev,
Apparently many TL members with the same idea today, white buildings and green gardens :-)
This is a fine composition, lush green and the bush on the left act as a nice natural frame. The sky is a bit dull though, adjusting the highlights and contrast might improve this already nice picture. Made a WS to show what I mean. Anyway a fine attractive picture of this wonderful building and it's garden.
Hans

Wow what an amazing garden this place has, your photo would look great on a table placemat, nice point of view too

Hi Beverley

The diagonal axis lines add superb dynamism. Good sharpness, colour & framing, in this well manicured garden. Tfs, & have a great week!

Hi Bev,

stunning! high maintenance gardens indeed, all this artistic work with the green curves and lines and flowers.. must be taking them hours everyday to keep it that neat! excellent capture with fine lighting and vivid colors and good choice to use part of the tree as frame and the frame itself.. charming presentation Bev..

Hi Beverley,
A nice garden and a beautiful house!
But in this case there is a graphical design of the garden and your title suites exactly to the composition.
A excellent presentation with a amazing POV and an ample DOF in fine sharpness.
Lighting is marvelous and definition is to the maximum.
A very clean presentation in an elegant frame!
Well done,

Francis Xavier

Hello Beverley,
Beautiful garden, well made symmetrical crop or composition. The geometric shapes are well seen, good representation. Creative shot with clear, sharp colours. Best regards Siegfried

Hi Beverly
A good POV inthat the lines are all on the diagonal. It has more appeal that way I feel.
Phil

Bonjour Bev,

Odile

dear Beverley,
lines and colors make really artistic and geometric space in this garden.
and your composition makes beautiful perspective in this picture.
light and colors are perfect and excellent,
maybe the time is passing gracefully there.
thank you,

It looks like one of these scenes one can see on wine bottle labels,a dream place Bev.

Hi Bev

I really like your serie about France.
Again a nice composition in a beautiful presentation.
The pov is excellent.
Like a painting, Compliments

Kind regards

A lovely view Bev and nice and sharp.. It doesn't seem to me that you've used a polariser here though. It would really bring the blue sky out far more clearly with a deeper blue - and of course the clouds would stand out brilliantly.
