Arboretum Forest is located near a small village called BazoÅ, Timis County, Romania, in broad plain at a distance of approx. 20 km southeast of Timisoara City, the territory between the rivers Bega and Timis.
Arboretum Forest was born as a result of the activity of Count Louis Ambrozy, who was ambassador to the Austro-Hungarian Empire in the United States.

In 1954 Arboretum Forest received the status of scientific reserve, and in 1982 was declared a natural monument.
In 1994 has the status of a protected area for biodiversity protection and ecofund Genetic Resources.
