[Ligne directrice - Note] Note du photographe
This engine is used to winch the fishing boats in and out of the sea at Aldeburgh. There is no longer any harbour there, and the boats have to be launched over the shingle.

Iron rusts, alloys oxidise and green plants grow around the area. Pour some diesel in the tank and start her up!

Hello, Peter.

Just browsing and I noticed this one. Oh, wouldn't I like to get my hands on this! I think I might just be tempted to strip it down a bit and clean it up before attempting to start it! Unlike vehicle engines, engines like this have often had relatively few hours of use over the years and are often in reasonable condition internally.

But, to the photograph - sharp and clear as always and well-exposed. Colours are great too - rust is a curse in all things mechanical but it provides some fantastic colours.

Best Wishes,
