I don't know if you've seen these billboards and posters up (of the "Barbie Fashion" line) but I personally HATE them with a passion. The reason I took the pic to the right the way I did was I liked how the scaffolding cross-braces formed an X over the posters. I mean, why the $*$! do you need to market this sort of expensive @$#! to little girls? Not only that, look at how those models are made up. I mean they're eight!

Enough of a rant.

I made different versions of this pic. Some with dollar signs to the left. Some with a little girl. Some with older girls. But I thought this one was funniest!

Cheers all.

This is my second diptych (when you combine 2 pic to make a third pic whose meaning is dependant on both visuals together). I've started a theme. as I intend to do more. I hope you like them!

haha, you are totaly right, alex!more than right i would say!
the money of the dols isn't enough, so now they design clothes! omg, i'm happy here in belgium it didn't got so far (yet)
now, i'm for sure gonna bye a T-shirt with on it : Barbie is a sl*t! you convinced me!

good job!

I like your note, and the way in which you have displayed these pictures. I also agree, that the fashion industry and the commercial ads are making children look and act too old for their ages. Children are not given the time to be children anymore. I would not buy these clothes for any child I know, just because of they way the portray children.
Thanks for the post, it is great.

Very effective Alex. Using the photo of the little boy is definitely appropriate! I think they make these little girls look so much older than they really are. They even use young girls in shaving commercials because they have perfect little legs. Its aweful. Let them be kids!

Anyways...love your diptych (I learnt something new today! Thanks)

You are right about the strange direction 'fashion' has taken for little girls. A good example is thongs. They sell them to 10 years old!

As for your diptych. I really like the humor in it. The boy's expression is priceless. I also like how the diagonal lines are present in both pic (well seen). Maybe you should propose this category (diptych) for the next scav hunt. TFS.

i missed that note and shot but was able to see it in my fashion theme...I like it very much! it is both very creative and artistically done! i agree with you on the note;-))

Barbie is EVIL!
