Life is a gift that we all take for granted, for we know no other life than this. But we need not fear death, friends, for to live in fear of death is to live in wasteful denial.
The world is not empty now, it is only lighter, minus one... but it is still beautiful, and new life is always right beside us.
The power of faith, whatever faith it may be, is not the ability to keep bad things from happening to good people, but rather it is the power to help good people through bad things.
This photograph is in memory of Heather McRoberts, a friend of mine who was killed in a plane crash last weekend in the mountains of Colorado, almost on top of the Continental Divide.
Though I did not know her that well, I knew her well enough to know that she was the most ambitious, fearless, caring and down to earth person I have ever had the pleasure of being around.
It seems that the people who are the greatest gifts to this world are always the ones who are taken back so soon.
I was going through photographs this afternoon, and this one reminded me of her. Some native cultures believe that birds are the carriers of the soul once a person dies, and I cannot imagine any better way for Heather's soul to travel than on the wings of an eagle...

Hi Brian,
Superb shot of this eagle. Greatly captured and well composed. May need to crop more, making a more proportional space for the main object [the eagle].
Have a nice weekend and don't work too hard...
