En route to my eldest daughter Jessica's wedding, I caught all three girls with different expressions. Neither of the younger two had even been to a wedding before, and this day they were to be bridesmaids in their sister's wedding. They were also struggling with the thought of "losing" their big sister (as was I), and sure enough, tears erupted during the ceremony. I love the serene look on bride Jessica's face in this shot, as well as the bit of overexposure from the window next to her.

PP work--used the lasso to cut out the girls (a bit rough--didn't have a mouse), then inverted the selection and tarnished the background and applied a gaussian blur. That was it, besides the framing, sizing and sharpening.

Hi Karen, what a wonderful natural photo of the 3 girls. Your 3 girls. It is quite an event and after my 4 sons' weddings I understand what it is like to be at your child's wedding... there's excitement and a tinge of sadness too.
I like how you have captured them all - the blurred BG may not have been necessary, seeing you didn't have a mouse!!
But a lovely one for the family album

Nice work here, Karen. Very effective in capturing the gamut of expressions among the sisters and very nice lighting and exposure. A very comely trio to count as your daughters. Congratulations!

congrats and thanks,

ps.I'll be back with points

Very nice Karen. Well composed, with great expressions. Nice colors.

The only thing I might have done differently is to burn in the right border a bit. The brightness there pulls my eye away from the faces. The way I like to do it is to use a separate layer in overlay mode. Fill it with 50% gray, this doesn't change anything. Then paint on it black where you want to burn and white where you want to dodge. I use a separate layer for burning and 1 for dodging. When you paint start with the brush opacity/flow at about 5-10% and build up on it. I sometimes need to increase the brush above 10-15% when it's really bright but that is rare. It affects it to much at that level.

Hope this is useful.

TFS,
David

What a fantastic group of Angels
What a treasure. This must have been a day to never forget for you Karen.
Greetings

Rob

What a lovely portrait, i like the way the bride looks over the younger sister. I also like the way you've crop the image.
The only minor bad points i would say, is that the two on the left were still wearing their jackets...))i can go for leopard, but nylon?))) but hey...that's life..
Nicely done.
