We were at a rest area on the west side of the Rio Grande Gorge Bridge. He was near the restrooms having an afternoon snack. I have loved chipmunks since Walt Disney made them famous as the cartoon characters Chip and Dale. We have one that lives in our garden but he is a very elusive little fella but I will capture a photo of him one of these days.
Very little PP work just cropped, added a little contrast and sharpened slightly then resized for the web.

Hi Jim, very cute ! I love chipmunks too, I find them amazing. Good capture !

Fantastic capture, very good detail and natural colors. Your composition is nice and tight giving attention to Chip!!!

I love cacti, but not to eat! I hope this guy has a touch tummy! Very good composition and colors. I love wildlife shots as they are all so original. You did this one justice! Thanks for sharing.

Terrific shot of this little critter! You've got him framed well, in an interesting position, exposed just right...And he's got the cuteness factor.

My mother-in-law lives with us and every morning this month has enjoyed the antics of two families of chipmunks playing in the stone wall outside her window. They have quite the condo situation in there, and she gets a kick out of watching all the baby 'munks come out to play with each other.
