Twilight Serenity

| [Ligne directrice - Note] Note du photographe |
| Last week on Trek Earth, I posted a couple of photos of Kimberly Point Park in Neenah, Wisconsin -- a spot I've liked ever since visiting more than a decade ago, prior to relocating to Wisconsin to live and work. On a summer evening, it's a very mellow place. People gather round the lighthouse to fish, swing, walk, visit, barbecue, or watch the sailboats on this park that fronts Lake Winnebago. And, as this fellow visitor determined, it's a great place to just curl up with a good book. |

Good shot! You're right, this image just projects serenity - I guess at least partly due to the soft colours. There are a few things I think could make it even better though - firstly it feels tilted, the tower seems to lean to the right. I'm also not entirely happy with the cropped feet, I think had I had the chance maybe I'd have moved back a few paces? Despite those minor things it's a very pleasing scene. Well captured :-D
I like this picture. I have a photo of a lighthouse in my TL gallery too. My husband, AMRSDad, whose sister lives in Wisconsin, has a photo you commented on a while back (a cat looking out the window at a squirrel). He posted a new photo today of a pic he took at his sister's in Wisconsin and I wish he'd post more of his pics! Anyway, nice picture, thanks for sharing!
The mood in this photo is very relaxing. It is nice that you included people in the foreground. It provides a noce point of interest in addition to the lighthouse. Also, nothing is dead center in your which creates a pleasing composition. The only reason I mention this is that many who photograph lighthouses tend to put in the dead center on the frame. Anyway great job.
The subdued colors here are very calming. The detail is good and the clarity of the shot is decent. I wish the subjects foot and the top of the light house were not cut off, but that is nitpicking.
Overall this picture makes me want to go find a nice glass of iced tea and a picnic table to sit at. Too bad it is winter right now :(
