[Ligne directrice - Note] Note du photographe
This Yellow Crested Cockatoo was sitting in a Chinese Toon, casually pulling the pink sprigs from the branches. Given an hour and he would have stripped the tree bare.
Taken at the bird park at the top of the Awhitu Peninsular late this afternoon.

Hi Pete
Great photo, I like the colours of the Toon tree and the plumage of the Cockatoo. Glad I read your note, for a moment I thought you had captured this bird in the wild. :-)

TFS, Martyn

Hi Peter,
Great image.
These Toon trees are interesting.
We had a lot in our garden in the Waikato.
I'd heard that the Chinese use the shoots in cooking and tried eating them. I didn't find the taste too pleasant.
A few weeks ago we had trouble with a neighbourhood dog ripping open our rubbish bags. When the dog ranger came to check it out he gave me some 'skunk shot' which is a synthetic skunk scent to repel dogs.
I recognised the smell straight away and could swear it was the same as Toon leaves.
I wonder if thats what skunks really smell like?
... Interesting,huh?

Hello Dear Peter
How nice it is! I think that you did a fine job because it is well captured and well seen.
Thanks for sharing and have a good time
Saman
