Exactly what it is , a beautiful hand-embroidered blouse worn by a cute indigenous young woman . Oddly i shot this in Guayaquil , a steamy hot place in the lowlands of the country. My expectations were to meet with these indigenous people up in their native highlands ( the Andes ) in all evidence one family was trading their crafts down here in famous Bolivar Park . Quite a few tourists descend on this smallish park during the day to see the ( tamed ) iguanas that have made the park reknown throughout the world , i was there for the reptiles too and while i was siting there this lady came around looking to sell her things to the newly arrived visitors , i snapped this shot of her blouse , precisely the delicate hand-made embroidery on her shoulder shown in a pattern of flowers in delightfully vivid colors , pay attention to her golden necklace and earrings as well .
It was a hot and hazy day , humidity was quite high as is always the case here , the white was glaring white so to speak therefore i underexposed in camera to control the whiteness of the fabrics in manual mode , that is when manual setting comes handy ( i could have used EV compensation also )then i played with the tool to brighten up the shadowy parts of the scene like the skin and hair in PP'ing , added a bit of saturation to bring out the colors ever so slightly , some noise removed , sharpening after resizing the photo for TL and that's about it i think ,
Thanks for the peek ,

Bom dia Carol,

Excellent control of light (no OE on the whites), very good focus, vivid and beautiful colors, unusual POV and pose. Great work, with an interesting and useful note!

Unusual and beautiful. Fabulous definition and quality.

Wow, I love this one Carol. My kind of shot!! Fantastic exposure on the whites .. and really nice sharp crisp detail through out - her hair, her necklace, and her blouse and the intricate embroidery. Very well captured.
I noticed in Guatemala as well ... the whites were always so white ... the clothes always SO clean. These are hard working people that take a lot of pride in themselves.
Great shot Carol
Have a nice Sunday ... grey and cloudy here today. OH, how I long to see this snow disappear!!

Hi Carol,

very nice capture from this unique point of view. Sharp details seen in the beautiful embroidery work. Nice saturation, contrasts and light. Great work!

I like the clarity & vividness of the colors captured. Great control of evading OE both in her clothes & her bright jewelry,I like the details you captured of the white on white part of her blouses collar.
