Hello everybody!

Strange coincidence. A little souvenir shot taken on March 2nd, 1979! To continue on the theme of my voyage on board the MV Caron P.E. , after our visit in Ancona we headed to Constanta , Romania to load a cargo of bagged cement for Lagos, Nigeria.

On our way to destination , we anchored from February 25th to 28th off the village of Karistos a/c NE'ly Gales in the Aegean Sea.

On March 2nd we passed the Dardanelles in early morning, to pass Istanbul and the Bosphorus Bridge by mid Day.

As the weather was foggy, or perhaps smoggy.... , the original photo is not that great. This image is from a scanned 3.5'' x 5'' 35mm print.

Technically:
with Photoshop CS
1) Cloned some scratches and marks.
2) Used the Neon filter to see better the silhouette of the bridge, and emphasize the older look of the ship.
3) Cropped the bottom.
4) Filtered with Neat Image
5) Added frame and title with Photofiltre.

I am adding a color version as a WS. Let me know which PP you prefer.

Cheers!
Robert

Bravo Robert, je suis impressionné.
J'aime ce montage, il dégage beaucoup d'effet et me laisse songeur sur une site possible des événements.
Ton choix de couleur est approprié.
Salutations.

Fantastic capture Robert. I heard that Istanbul has such a thing foggy day & saw myself but not like this. By the way, at that time I was 4 years old!!!!! I like the actual image more.

Hi my friend Rob,

What a fog!!!
I hardly see the bridge in the background. And the effect and lighting you used here it makes it more dramatic and mysterious. Great idea to present it like this!!
Very well done!!!!

Annie

Good work Robert. Are you at sea with this ship?

I like this moody misty shot very much. It looks very mysterious like the opening shot of a spy movie. Composition is good with part of the ship on the left and the bridge in the far distance. Good scan from a print.

I know this bridge really well and still haven't got a decent photo of it. And now I know that I won't get one as good as this. It's a really moody shot and I like the duo tone misty feel you have here. It looks like a ghost ship sailing into a ghost town.

Great composition and I really like the frame. It might be an older shot but it could have been taken just the other day.

Run out of smiles today, but this is well worth one :-)

Hello Robert. I prefer your Neon filter version for this. TFS. This type of PP is something I will have to try on the photos that don't quite have the right lighting.

Hello, Robert:)

As a big Istanbul lover, couldn't resist adding this awesome photo to my favorites.

Extraordinary, mystic atmosphere, so different of most photos of Istanbul we used to.

Wonderful framing completes whole impression.

Really great, congratulations:)

Best regards, Slavica
