This is adorable Ethan again...taken only moments before my previous post His eyes look so grown up to me, hence the title.
The complete story for this 2 year old boy's sad face is in the note there.

PS7___________________________________
At first I was going to make this a Black and White like the previous one, but decided
to do this one different half way through the process. Here:

Originally shot in color. I duplicated the image. Converted the original version to grayscale, then back to RGB. I Selected only the eyes on the color
version (new duplicated image) and copied them onto the new B&W (Screen, for layer mode). Erased all the extra around the eyes leaving only the blue. I then added a Hue & Saturation Adjustment layer over a Sepia layer creating this sepia color. I used the Eraser tool on this layer at 50% opacity on the eyes so the blue will still show through. Finally, I added a Curves Adjustment layer to increase the contrast of the overall image. Oh, and added this frame.
I posted the original color version as a Workshop.

Does it look okay? It's my first attemt at making a Sepia-ish image...

I like the 'ethan' series you have been posting I like this shot a lot better than your last post great job on the desaturation well done I like the frame as well great sepia, Stacey

You managed well Stacey.
Strange, your thought about adult eyes on a child.
Or rather, peculiarily coincidental...
I was browsing through my shots this afternoon to see what I would upload today, and came upon a photo of a 1 yr old kid with the same stare... and I had the same thought about him!
I did not upload that photo, I saved it for future purposes.

Anyway, nice shot, and your sepia attempt is quite useful. Do my eyes deceive me, or do I still see a tinge of blue in his eye??

Sorry havent read your note carefully enough, I see it indeed was intended... :)

sortie d'une prise de vue cinématographique, un regard parlant, un visage pensif, de très beau yeux, la couleur des yeux qui ressort. cadré à gauche pour laisser le regard ârtir avec le sien a droite....parfaite !!!

Excellent portrait of this cute child Stacey. Indeed, her eyes has a beautiful sense of the eyes of adults!

Not that we have to - we have the pleasure of both - but it would be pretty hard to chose between these two portraits. But for argument's sake: I think I like the b&w better if I have to chose color, simply because b&w works so well for portraits, but I like this one best for the angle, because he is looking pensive and not at the photographer, which IMHO improves a portrait. So there you go, I am difficult and want to have the best of both worlds.

This is...i was trying a word but i guess i can´t.
Ethan, right? We can see the power of his look...you know, there are eye expressions where we can see much from people. On childrens it can be a bit harder i guess cause they all seem so inocent and pure..and Ethan..well, he got that pure and inocent look too...but it trigers me much more than that...this guy here seems to look the world from above..i mean...from this and the previous image, he shows me such a potential selfconfident person, and someone who will have a great philosophy...yes..a philosopher..so litlle and he already seems to question the surronding world....

Adorable children...potentialy adorable grown guy :)

Wonderful, Stacey...

hey!! sepia works very well here. infact i prefer this to your previous image, not because this is in sepia, but because in this he's ding his own thing. seems like a philosopher lost in his thoughts :)
i think one catches the best in kids when they are not looking into the camera. you did just that
take care :)

Stacey it is again a very good work on this photo.

Ethan a des yeux merveilleux. J'aime beaucoup le choix du Sepia pour votre photo.

like the pp you did here, with the dof and partly sharp face it's got a special mood to it ..Very nice Stacey ..

Stacey, this picture is so precious. You have done a beautiful job of showing so much emotion in this child's eyes. I love the colour tones that you have used they suit the picture very well.
Thank you for sharing.

Such a wonderful portrait. I really like the effect of those blue eyes over sepia. Very well done Stacey.

Nice photo Stacey. I like the Sepia a little more than the B/W. I also like the fact that you kept the eye color as it was originally shot. Kids are so wonderful to shoot. They are such naturals.

Hi Stacey,

Ah isn't it just such a heavy-hearted task to look after someone elses child, becuase the one thing they want is specifically the one thing you cannot give them. I adore kids, but baby-sitting isn't all that wonderful specifically becuase I feel I lack in making the child happy. But usually they lighten up after about an hour. I love the capture, he does look very thoughtful here, but his eyes are too sad to seem adult-like. Adults are too good at hiding sadness. I love the pp effect you chose, while keeping the blue in his eyes. Just such an adorable face. Great shot, I wish my favourites wasn't full, becuase I would add this one in there!

Well done Stacey!

Biance.
