i also have one of these lenses...but for canon ;-) i really like the DOF that you can achieve with this nice little piece of glass. it´s indeed excellent for close portraits.
this is a nice composition and capture, she is indeed lovely and has beautiful eyes. i personnaly don´t really like the shadow of her hair, especially the one going acrros her face, this is quite distracting, but hey, with such a beautiful girl, who´s looking at the shadow ;-)

Now, if I face a woman and she gives me this look, I know I did something very wrong. ;)

The DOF is interesting as it focuses on one eye. I like the hair being blown around because it helps see the face as that of a true human being with real emotions instead of a perfectly composed cover girl.

The hard lights emphasize the hard expression on her face. In fact, I think that the shadow of her hair around the eye helps the picture a lot. It creates the impression of an "I MEAN IT!!!" type attitude. The shadow of the strand of hair coming down to her chin is in perfect harmony with the curve of the left side of her face. I would not think of removing it.

Very sensual portrait full of life and feeling. The hair's shadow is great because it give a lot of life and honestly it give us the desire to put our hands in it. The eyes are a bit hard but the little smile say ''hey that's a game I like you!''. So a great shot of a great girl!

Hi Carey, still I think this is a very nice portrait. Very good detail, I think not to hard but it looks like "a sort off cold day" expression. Colors a very nice to look at with a very nice variation of sharpness and blur, light and shadow.

I had to try a WS to present this photo just a bit different. I hope it looks good.

In this one the light causes a strange shadow of her hair near her face. Still love the expression.

I don't mind the hard shadows at all Carey, as they don't cover the eyes. I find the light beautifull and the shadows add character to the photo. You have a very lovely girl friend Carey and you have a beautifull potriat of her here.
