[Ligne directrice - Note] Note du photographe
Last week on my free block, I ventured to the school's art room with my camera. I saw this student, Swanti, deeply concentrated to her art work. I went behind her (she was sitting) and asked her if I could take her photo. She said yes and asked where. I said "Look up to me." She has an expressive pair of eyes. I took 3 shots.

I converted this pic into BW. I then created another layer and put the colored version at the bottom layer. Using the brush, I reveal the colored part such as her eyes, lips and shirt.

As a final step, I rotated the picture upside down.

A very powerful composition. Looks like Mars inhabitant
The skin color and the sight is shocking!
I can't keep looking at the photo for more than 10 seconds. I feel discomfortable. Then, after a while I turn to it one more time :)

this is another superb shot Manny. 2 in one day... you are overdoing it a bit huh? ;-)) this experiment is psot on! bravo for this sheer creativity... thanks for the technical note that is very valuable to follow your steops;-)) or try to...

A very powerful portrait with big and beautiful eyes. I like but the perspective makes that the face seems a little deformed, like a alien. Well done Manny.

hi Manuel, i really like the composition, this tight cropping and your POV - looking at her from the top.
wonderful eyes too, excellent portrait, very original.

Very interesting image, Manuel. I can't say that she looks lovely like in your other shots (which seem to heighten and dignify the people you photograph), but this certainly creates an eye-catching, engaging, lively image!

Fantastic atmosphere and fabulous composition. Effective post-processing. Instructive note. What else... congratulation.

Manuel, as usual you have presented another superb image. The angle of the shot is very dramatic, the focus, detail and pp make this a beautiful picture.
Well done, great work.

WOW its kinda scary as a thumbnail but I love it thanks for the note as well.

I ***Really*** like this image as a thumbnail. It was somehow diminished when I opened it up and saw it in it's glory.

I think it's because I'm so used to seeing the airbrushed beauty which is in every magazine. To see her in her imperfect glory is certainly mind twisting to say the least.

So I say - bravo. It's a great picture when it can make you stop and think about the cultural references and the conditioning to which you are accustomed.

Great photo. Great processing. Great job.
