This is me, looking down on Yoke Lake in northwestern Ontario. My dad and I went on a fishing trip this weekend, arriving via float plane to a remote lodge called Slippery Winds.
The fishing was excellent, and the peace and quiet was even better.
We passed by this huge rock bluff a few times while fishing on the many lakes down below, and one evening when the fish weren't biting so much, we decided to land the boat and bushwhack our way to the top. I'm glad we did, because just as we arrived, the sun started to sink and the whole world became still.
We unofficially named this spot the Looking Rock.
My dad took this picture of me using my camera, but I thought it would be a nice one to share anyhow. More to come this week... |
