[Ligne directrice - Note] Note du photographe
KiM... I had known her through my boss. Yup! she is the wife of my boss, and she ocassionaly visits us in the office, she sometimes graces our social parties. I am literally asking my friends to pose for me, as i wanted to learn more about portraiture. Imagine my surprise when she excitedly inform me that she would love to pose for us, with kuya Andy. So we just jump on the opportunity and raid her house(and i guess, i mess up with her wardrobe too...hehehe).

We have used a 500W halogen light, positioned it at the back of the model (which is very hot). I applaud Kim for being so patient. I used built in flash..

PP works:
Crop and curves...

One thing i enjoy with this photoshoot with my friends is the :bonding session". It's FuN!!!

Good portrait, but I think she is too centered.

Great portrait! Only thing I would suggest editing is her skin tone -- her face seems much darker than her legs.
But the pose, the subject, the lighting, etc. It's all great!

Hi Grace

It's not easy ha? I'm glad you had fun in this session, and it's great to see you've found such a patient and willing model to pose for you!

Good work here with the pose, Kim makes a lovely model - and I think you've framed and cropped this well. Her placement within the shot works with her pose.

I guess my biggest criticism would be using built-in flash, it seldom gets the kind of lighting results needed in shots like this. I think you would be better to put the halogen in front of her, maybe draping some A4 copier paper over it to diffuse the light, and have a desk-lamp behind her - then put your camera on a tripod or other steadying object and use a slower shutter speed to catch your shot.

Keep them coming, you're doing a great job!

Rew

hey rew...
left a bit space critique for me will ya... :)

hehehe....
I like this portrait also, but sorry the light its to flat. I agree with what rew said... (I think you would be better to put the halogen in front of her)but the true is... not only in the front of model, but you need to put flash or hologen in the back model and you aimed to left and right model (see workshop) to get dimention and highlight for curve model bodies.

Good Portrait!.
I find it very difficult to make good portraits, and the lighting the most important. Good use of the light behind the model because when even blowing the background partialy, it frames the figure and make appear textures in the wall.

Hi Grace, I actually like the model centralised. I envy anyone who can take a half decent portrait. A workshop, just as an alternative. TFS,
David

Many thanks for your comment on ‘Tamar Tranquillity VIII’
