[Ligne directrice - Note] Note du photographe
Hello Trekfans,

Another one of my "rubbish camera" shots from just as I was becoming interested in photography. If anyone is wondering why I am going through all my old photos and posting them it's because I am very busy at the momment and have not really had time to take new ones.

I am always interested to know what you think and I will start the critiques off myself. I think I should have got lower to the floor maybe even laid down to get a better perspective.

Ok your turn now,

Cheers

Tom

I think that's an interesting shot. Quite bleak in a way, and the moped somehow emphasises that. I like the PoV but agree that it could have been better lower down, especially if you'd got the roofline in as well as the cobbles. The curve of the alley leads the eye into the picture which is also good.
Cheers, John.

Good morning Tom

I actually really do like this POV. I agree a lower level might have been better as a small amount of bright blue sky at the top would be a superb contrast especially as you have the red writing on the walls. It really does show that graffiti is unversal! I love the wall colours and the way the cobbles lead me through the image.

Great posting

TFS regards Helen

Hi Tom
Interesting capture, great POV, with a special light. The guide lines leads to a curve and than what??, a photo ho make one ask questions, and that is after my opinion very good.
Best regards
Jens.

Hello Tom, so Italian, so Roman with the little alley and the Vespa. Well seen and well done. Thanks,

Mario

Hi Tom
Interested photo. Good work.

Tomek

Hi Tom,

hmm, I'll be against most of the opinions here (including yours) concerning POV. I'd chose definitely location at the left wall, perhaps a bit lowered, but definitely not on the floor. Just explaining why: firstly present POV creates almost central compo with not so much interesting lead-in - the road. Just all the lines gather in the central point to fade towards the left... Windows and doors on both walls now are highly shortened by the acute angle. The moped is a dark "stain" on the photo. My proposed POV would sacrifice windows and doors on the left wall (now they are also hardly visible...), but would widen the right ones, showing possibly more details. Same with the moped. The right wall being partially in front would act than as a band forcing you to the left - making along with the alley just stronger lead-in imo. Lowering (not too much - not to loose floor textures!) would add monumentality to the buildings, making them more prominent.

Well, I hope I wasn't boring and/or annoying... *s* tfs

Marek

Hi Tom,

Nice shot, well designed alleyway to reduce solar gain and increased draft for ventilation...those Romans... well captured. TFS
