I took this last October as I climbed up the face of Pinnacle Mountain in Ferndale Arkansas. It's so hard to show exactly how steep this is, but the view once you get past the tree line is really excellent. Some of the rocks here are as big as cars!
I chose this for the theme because it took an hour and a half to climb this mountain to get this shot. I figured I did my homework on this well! LOL!
Have a great day!
Linda

Superb PoV and great details -- the power lines and people all add a sense of perspective tp this fine addition to the theme

HI Linda
Pretty rugged and indeed brave of you to stand on the edge to take this shot. The people really giving us the perspective of the deepness.
Well done
I hope that the summer storm did not affect you too much and that you are safe. I saw the damages it caused and seeing you are close to the gulf, I am sure you must have been scared.
Dot

What a long was to climb. Lovely presentation for the theme. Good colours too.
Best wishes,
Achim

I like all the bright colour here, Linda and of course the vertigo feeling of the looking down. Nicely composed and presented with a definite capture of the “feeling”, perfect for the theme.
Warmest Regards
Wanda

Even after that 90 minute climb Linda your instincts for composotion are still spot on!
Good placement of the tree line and nice smattering of people in the frane.
Love the colors and tones of the rock.
Nicely done.

Hi Linda.... Good for you to climb this area. We have a park in Atlanta called Stone Mountain which you can climb. As I was sitting for my 2nd rest on the way up.... a few "joggers" ran past. I coulda killed 'em! LOL

Nice shot of the view of the rocks. The people in the red shirts add a splash of bright color to your scene.

Nice theme addition. Lisa

I am so glad you didn't get blown away! I was watching the news and thinking of you. This looks VERY steep! I'm afraid of heights so I'm always so grateful when people climb up and take pictures as it saves me having to go up myself to see the view. :) This is really pretty! Have a happy day!

Huffing and puffing, I presume, You made it, Linda! Reminds me of my own struggles last summer to get this picture here - I am almost afraid to try again, lest I fail this time to scale such heights ....
Cheers
Otto

Hello Linda,

You must have felt a certain smugness as you stood at the top looking down on those still battling to reach the summit!
Excellent f/g details of colour, shape and texture. The people give and the distant trees help us to gain some idea of the scale! I'm sure there were some wobbly tummies as they looked down!

Kind regards,
Bev :-)

This old body would not get more than 50 yards up Linda. I think this is possibly the best I have seen from your trek last year. Good colour in the clothing and lovely tones and textures in the rocks. Nicely done,
David

very nice! a little scary to be hiking down this hill.
sharp edges on the rocks are well done.
good photo for this week.

i remembered you posted one from this mountain long ago and you told us you used the old tokina.. i still can remember your old shot very well in my head.. honestly :) i don't go and open it too lazy but in comparison this one is much sharper and the greens are more clear here.. forgive me if im wrong.. hehe..

Hi Linda,
Very nice scenery from the mountaintop. I love the greens. I imagine myself as one of those climbers sitting on the rock, enjoying the scene and breeze after having a bunch of shots of the scenery. Wonderful... :)

The texture of the rocks also made an interesting foreground. Nice addition to the theme.

Regards,
Ramdan.
