| [Ligne directrice - Note] Note du photographe |
Got lucky here in my gradual effort to photograph people. This is a crop from a much larger image, yet even pulling out this little frame, the details are clear. I was very difficult getting clear photos while either shooting with a flash or extended exposure on a tripod at this Day of the Dead Festival in San Francisco. Despite the technical challenges, it was also a moving experience seeing such creativity in costumes and make-up in addition to the beautiful and touching shrines that people made for their lost loved ones. (See previous posting of one altar in two exposures, i.e., with and without flash.)
I'm more or less fascinated by clowns because I portray them as a singer in some of my current performances, so it was fun catching these two faces, one in an expression of fatique or sadness, but then, often the clown is sad behind his mask.
The primary thing I did with this image is crop it. |

Olá Richard,
I think you take this photo in difficult conditions. The composition is great but i think you miss a litlle bit of sharpness.
I made a WS for you i hope you like it.
Greetings from Portugal,
Mário

hi Richard
I used to love mime of Marcel Marceau and theatre during university days when actually clowns and mime act are very similar.
This one reminds me of those days of wonderful art performance. Your shot up close and showing the expression behind the mask.

I detest taking night shots Richard, they never come out right. You did well with the cropping to bring teh focus back on the couple of clowns and reasonable colour. Another workshop if I may and TFS,
David
