[Ligne directrice - Note] Note du photographe
I had put this New Zealand Pacific Rose apple on the table for Marilyn.I called her in from the garden, and when I turned around our little 'Buzzy Bee' fridge magnet was ready to help himself.
It was such a dull afternoon I used flash bounced into a reflector on the right, and a small white card on the left to lighten the shadows.
The apple was scrumptious!!!

The inspired creation of Auckland brothers, Hec and John Ramsey, the Buzzy Bee has endeared itself to millions of New Zealanders. An intriguing concoction of buzzing sound, quivering antennae, spinning wings and basic bold colours, this delight pull-along toy has been purchased in the hundreds of thousands since its first release in the mid 1940's.

Good one Pete - nice juicy Pacific Rose and Buzzy Bee. 2 favourites of mine - especially dear old Buzzy Bee.

Nicely captured, maybe a bit too centred, but then Buzzy Bee does need to be in the centre of the limelight. . .

Good one
Janice

Good colours and light.

Sorry to say this but the composition is a bit 'boring' for me.

I think a tighter framing with a lower perspective would improve the shot. More shallow depth of field would also narrow the point of attention here.
Maybe you could go so close that the bee would be looking downwards from the top of the apple?

Cheers,
Jens

Pete

The Buzzy bee..never thought of that! Well captured and thoughout! Love it :)
Thanks for joining the theme

hehehe, lovely idea !
Love the colors.

thanks,

A lovely shot, Pete, and a great idea.
The details are nicely focused.
It may be quite central but I think the knife on the right gives it an off-centre 'feel'.

Kind regards,
Bev :-)

You sure have done a terrific job of managing the light, Pete. I am not familiar with your little buzzy bee but he looks quite intriguing. Maybe just a bit centered, not sure you could change that and keep it so close. Now if you set the apple for Marilyn, how do you know it was delicious?
Warmest Regards
Wanda

Hiya Peter

Nicely composed and good sharp image here, excellent colours and interesting notes to give advice on the shooting techniques.

TFS kind regards Helen

Nice, this beautiful apple served on a plate !
The bee couldn't resist it.....

regards, willie

So in New Zealand you have dull and grey days as well - the best time to play with the camera.
Your lighting job worked out - perfect and you even managed to catch yourself a bee visiting the apple ^-^.

Fun addition for the theme,

TFS
