Hello Dot,

You didn't make it easy for your first try with that camera. But as I could see, you learned a lot since. This is a nice image showing the tought weather we have here, and taking picture in these condition is not an easy task. But you did good in rendering the blizzard condition. TFS.

I'm shivering just looking at this!
The bluey-grey tones say it all!

I like how the snow has created a misty layer in the centre. It is good for composition and effect!
The bare twigs, in the f/g, add interest to a grey sky.

This shot is worth the trouble to face the cold wind and capture the effect of the blowing wind on the snow scene. The way you placed the tree in the FG has shown the most effective scene of the drifting snow behind in such a blur layer of white tone, especially cutting off the lower levels of the trees at far end. That is the result which you would find most unusual in this kind of condition.

I see a thin trace of light.

the light in the blizzard or heavy snow and wind shows us its secret face just like in this your shot.
it is the beautiful gradation or blurring from vanishing white to illusionary silhouette,
that picturesque scene inspires hot charm into our cold heart.
frozen light looks holding most hot feeling in the white world.

A good juxtapositioning, between the sharply foccussed fg branches, & bg elements, blurred by the driving snow. Contrast variations are quite marked, too. Well seen!

Voilà un excellent sujet pour le thème de la semaine!
Ces deux cèdres collés l'un sur l'autre, comme deux personnages voulant se réchauffer, illustrent bien les rigueurs de ce matin froid.
C'était aussi une excellente occasion d'initier ton Rebel XTi aux aléas de notre hiver! :)
