Simple n nice, though not sure about the use of b/w here. Think the cloudy sky help in this photo.
A simple but enjoyable composition, Michel. I like how the juxtaposition of the different (horizontal) landscape layers gives depth to your image and is delicately counterbalanced by the upward "diagonal" line of the path through the meadow.
To me, black and white is no problem here, as it enhances the simplicity of your composition, but on my screen, there is a kind of sepia cast in the sky, that strangely contrasts with the "real" black and white of the lower part of the photo. I wonder whether, in post-processing, you converted your picture into black and white or simply (but not entirely) desaturated it (which could explain the sepia cast).
Just my personal thoughts, of course. Feel free to (dis)agree ;o)
